For over a decade we've been creating all-natural, eco-friendly handcrafted soaps. Our customer base spans internationally with customers located in the UK and Australia and nationally with many of our customers from both east and west coasts. We've established and take great pride in creating superior soap products using only the finest herbs, oils, and botanicals. May 1, 2009, we will be opening our first retail store front located 7 miles north of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. We are eager to meet new and invite our current customers to stop by and see our latest men's line (Northern County) and children's line (Bubble & Squeak), our European inspired essential oil line (Elizabethan Thymes) and everyone's seasonal floral and fruity favorites. Why Dell Prairie Soap

Hello, my name is Susan Tourdot. I am the founder and owner of Dell Prairie Soap Company. I'm an extremely proud mother of three, full time ER registered nurse, and passionate soap maker. I've been making soap for over a decade and always learning and growing my wealth of knowledge related to creating the "perfect" bar of soap. I began my soap studies in 1997, when I was working in an ER located in Portage, Wisconsin. I was washing my hands in an excess of 50 times per day and was eventually diagnosed with Dermatitis (skin inflammation: inflammation of the skin from any cause, resulting in a range of symptoms such as redness, swelling, itching, or blistering). It was a very broad diagnoses, so I began researching the various forms and soon found the only way to eliminate my condition was to replace fluids lost (drink more H2O) and add all natural absorbing oils back into my skin. I bought my first soap making book at a local bookstore in town, and checked out every available book at our local library. I began making my first bar by rendering tallow ( a very unpleasant odorous process whereby you boil animal fat and skim the fat (tallow) to make soap). I found it to be a very tedious process and as the word got out that I began learning a craft many of my friends grandmothers had mastered, the demand for my product was in short supply. I had to find an easier way to create my masterpieces and began searching recipes on line. Truly inspired by Sandy Maine, who is a master soap maker residing on the East Coast, I created my first Vegetable based bar and with awesome lather and incredible feel, I found the "WOW" factor I was searching for. Within two months after using my vegetable based bars, my hands were healed and all of our store bought, mass produced, chemically composed bars were tossed in the waste can. My husband went through a short withdraw period but as soon as he was forced to use my new creations, he was hooked! We've used all natural soaps in our house ever since.
